Summary
Born in 1983 in Sacramento, California I am currently a student artist at the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) in animation, expected graduation May 2018. I have traveled as a military dependent for most of my early childhood and been subsequently exposed to various international cultures. Fascinated with cartoons and animation from a very young age, I would pause classic Disney movies and draw still frames of the characters for fun. This interest was further developed while living in Japan in the late 80’s and early 90’s where I was introduced to “Dragon Ball Z” on local television, Wednesday nights at 7pm. During high school, I lived in Copenhagen, Denmark where I learned to appreciate the aesthetics of street art murals, and ancient western culture. I LOVE animating and come from a background of traditional art media. My current artistic focus is on my senior animation titled, “Brain Fishing 1”; a 3-minute, stream of conscious, 2d animation which will be completed early 2018! I am also working on blending my traditional art with facets of augmented reality technology. Post-college, I have a strong desire to work within a team of animators at a studio creating television, film based or video game animation. Freelance will always be an option as well! Thank you for taking time to look at my work!
